The BSL 101 qualification is split into three units, these can be achieved separately. If you are new to the world of British Sign Language (BSL) then it is advised to cover the units in order as each unit builds on the previous one.
BSL101 covers an Introduction to BSL
BSL102 covers Conversational BSL
BSL103 covers Communication in BSL about Everyday Life.
To receive the full Level 1 Award in British Sign Language, all the above units must be achieved. When achieved you will have the means to:
Understand and use a limited range of simple words and sentences in BSL.
Take part in simple, everyday conversations in BSL.
Give and follow simple directions or instructions in BSL.
Give and follow simple familiar statements or descriptions in BSL.
